This is what normally happens when your fuel pump goes bad.
You drive up to the fuel pump, put in fuel, pay the cashier, get into the vehicle, and the engine cranks but doesn't start. Just like that!
Don't panic right away. : ) Get down on the cement, reach under the vehicle, and hit the fuel tank several times with the palm of your hand. Then try to start the vehicle again. If it starts and runs, it is time to change your fuel pump. You were fortunate it started this time. It may not start the next time.
There are other symptoms that indicate a fuel pump is going bad, but this is the most reported one.
