Even though it is cooler weather, keep an eye on the coolant in your vehicle.
The improper antifreeze mixture can cause the coolant to gel and consequently the engine will overheat. Even though most hoses and belts respond to higher temperatures and break if they are old or worn, the cold weather can also cause hoses and belts to break.
If your engine overheats turn it off as fast as your hand can go from the steering wheel to the ignition. Better to sit by the side of the road for a while then to be thousands of dollars into a repair. It might only be a broken hose-much cheaper than a head gasket or engine replacement.
