Does my A/C have a full charge of refrigerant?

In this hot weather, it is sometimes hard to tell if your air conditioner is charged up good.

Here is a simple test that will give you a good indicator if your a/c is charged with a full charge.

When you are out shopping, and you get into your hot vehicle, you turn on the a/c to full maximum to get the car cooled off quickly.

If between 5 and 10 seconds, you have cold air coming out of the vents, you most likely have a full charge of refrigerant in the a/c system.  If you have duel systems, one in the front and one in the back, both units should get cold at the same time as each other, and within 5 to 10 seconds of starting.

If the back unit takes longer to get cold than the front unit, then you need more refrigerant in the system.
