A little history

Whoops!  I forgot to post in January.

Thought you might like to know a little history of myself and how I ended up in this business.

I grew up on a farm near Marion, South Dakota.  During that time I helped with various machinery repairs and assisted my father in overhauling 2 Allis Chalmers tractor.  One was a WD and the other was our main tractor, a WD-45.  I loved the shop, and spent most of my spare time digging in the old iron pile for odds and ends to make or repair something.

In the spring of 1985 I attended Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas to recover from a farm injury, and met Janell.  We got married that November.  I was going to move back to South Dakota, but the economy appeared better here in Kansas.  So I went to work for Big Cheese Pizza for two years.

After my introduction into corporate America through Big Cheese I went back to the farm(kinda), and worked for Foreign Car Specialists south of Newton for 6 years rebuilding and repairing Volvos.  This is where I was fully baptized into the automotive repair business.

I then started my own mobile repair business and for the next 3 years worked on everything mechanical, from utility tractors, autos, misc farm machinery, to even laying a kitchen floor.  I went as far as Eldorado, Wichita, Hutchinson, and Salina.  It was lots of fun to work on farm machinery again, but the travel did not suit well for a family with young children.  So we settled in at Hesston Auto and Truck Repair.

And this is where I've been since 1997.  Most of my work is autos, but this last year I started working on other machinery as well.  A forklift, several garden tractors, and a wood chipper, just to name a few.

If you have a repair need other than your car, I'll do it.  Just ask.

Bryan
